Malawi’s former president Joyce Banda says any girl in Africa can grow up to be a leader — and she would know what she is talking about. Banda spoke in Washington this week as she launched a toolkit designed to ensure that all women with leadership traits are found, trained and encouraged to take more active roles in their communities.
